Now Hiring Crew Members for well established Deck and Fence Contractor

We are now hiring seasonal ( Approximately May – Dec) workers for general labour and construction of decks and fence Project throughout the City. The successful applicant will have a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard and learn new skills. Experience building and with power tools is an asset.

The Position

We are looking for hardworking individuals with building experience and the ability to work well with a team. Successful applicants will be responsible for working to complete projects in a timely manner with attention to detail and safety. Other responsibilities will include:

-Maintaining clean and safe work site

-Site prep including moving materials and tools to work areas

-Clean and Maintain tools and trucks

-Follow detailed instructions

Location

Fence Masters Inc. services the Ottawa Valley and transportation to and from our sites will be provided with your crew. Daily AM pick-up and PM drop-off at Fallowfield OC Transpo Station.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating customers needs and providing appropriate recommendations on products and services offered
• Building productive long lasting relationships through exceptional customer service
• Negotiate rates with customers
• Effectively build, maintain and expand new and existing business relationships
• Meet personal and team sales targets
• Maintain and expand customer database

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience within a Sales role
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Excellent ability to communicate in English, French considered an asset
• A valid G drivers license
• Ability to close a high percentage of provided customer leads
• Access to own vehicle considered an asset ($/km)
• Knowledge and experience of the construction industry considered an asset

Construction Driver/Tool Push

Responsibilities

• Responsible for safe operation of truck and trailer between the yard and job site
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections for safety and equipment use
• Ready the construction site each day for the current project by preparing materials, tools, and equipment
• Apply new project instructions for each job and make adjustments as directed by the construction manager or supervisor
• Wear clean safety equipment, such as ear plugs, safety glasses, gloves, helmets, and boots that are in good repair
• Comply with health and safety regulations when operating equipment or walking on the job site even when not on active duty
• Maintain a brisk and productive pace of activities to complete all assigned tasks within time constraints
• Leave construction equipment and tools clean, organized, and stored in an orderly fashion after each use
• Dispose of debris and hazardous materials according to local environmental standards and regulations
• Provide assistance to other team members on various tasks if your duties are completed ahead of schedule

Qualifications

• Full G license (required) and clean drivers abstract
• Basic knowledge of the city and directions
• Familiarity with hand tools such as power drills, hammers, and saws
• Ability to perform repetitive actions using your hands, arms, wrists, fingers, legs, or other body parts
• Commitment to wearing protective safety gear for heat, noise, and prevention of injury on the job site
• Desire to work long shifts, up to 10 hours 5 days a week during peak season
• General knowledge of construction operations and procedures
• Ability to work well with a team of subcontractors and a supervisor
